John F. Bjorback (Jack), age 84, left us to be at peace Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 16 at Miller Funeral Home 6210 Highway 65 N.E., Fridley and continuing for one hour prior at the church on Thursday. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17 at Messiah Lutheran Church 2848 CR H2, Mounds View.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John C. & Frances Bjorback; his sister, Catherine; brother, Richard; and daughter, Cathleen.
John is survived by his sisters, Nancy (Robert) Anderson & Joan (Don) Perdue; children, Beth (Ron) Hagen, Frances Green, Amy (Neil) Ayotte, J. Alan (Nancy), Daniel (Miriam); stepdaughter, Katherine (Cem Ozdogru) Hanson; grandchildren: J. Austin(Ashley) Simonson, Theresa (David) Henke, Alex Green, Nick Green, Laura Ayotte, Bailey Weaver, Hawthorne Bjorback, Althena Bjorback, Harrison Bjorback, Parker Ayotte, Annie Ayotte, Ean Bjorback, Alianna Bjorback, Aydin Ozdogru; great grandchildren, Harper, Hilde, Ava; dear friend & former spouse, Joan McLaughlin. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Allina Health Hospice Foundation.
Jack was born May 28, 1931, in Duluth, MN. After graduating from Duluth Central High School Jack joined the Navy and served for 4 years. He moved to Minneapolis to attend Dunwoody Institute where he received an Electrical Degree. John married Peggy Orr and eventually settled in Richfield, MN where they raised their 6 children. Jack moved to Fridley, MN after marrying Joan McLaughlin. Jack resided in Golden Valley, MN until his death.
Jack had many interests throughout his life. In high school he won awards for swimming. He enjoyed golfing, ice skating, singing (church choir & barbershop quartet), bicycling, square dancing, woodworking, & machining. Jack owned his own business, JB Controls, for over 40 years. He had his private pilots license & even went skydiving for the 1st time on his 80th birthday. Jack enjoyed the adventures of traveling & hiking around the world. But most of all Jack loved his children, grandchildren, family & friends.
