Joanne Ranem

Ranem, Joanne L. age 80 of Fridley, Minnesota went to be with her husband, Ronald Ranem on June 6th, at 9:43 am after a brief battle with cancer. She was with family when she passed. Joanne was born July 12th, 1936 to Ralph and Lydia Pineur of Faribault. She had one brother, Gerald (Athea) Pineur. She moved to Minneapolis just one month after graduating high school and attending Model Beauty School. After finishing school she got a job at Matthers Beauty Shop on 9th and Nicollet. She met Ronald Ranem of Milaca in July of 1955 and they married in July of 1956. They began their life together in a small apartment in Northeast, Minneapolis. She is survived by children, Carolyn Gustafson of Milaca, James (Cindy) Ranem of St. Francis, and Gerald (Karen) Ranem of Ham Lake; also survived by special friend, Hank Hagen; she has 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Gustafson, Lisa (Jeremy) Flatten, Jessica (Tim) Larson, Dustin (Mal) Ranem, Erin Breen, Megan (Cole) Main, Amy Joanne Miliken, Noah Ranem and Alyssa Ranem; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald; son-in-law, Gerald Gustafson; two grandsons, James Gustafson and Matthew Elmore. Funeral service Fridley, June 9th, 2017 - 12 noon with visitation one hour prior at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7700 Monroe St. NE, Fridley. There will be a luncheon held directly after the service at the Kraus Hartig VFW, 8100 Pleasant View Dr. NE, Spring Lake Park, MN. Interment will be held at 2:30 PM at the Wendell Hill Cemetery, Milaca.
