Joan Jacobson

Joan A. Jacobson, age 64 of Roseville. Joan was born on November 30, 1949 in Saint Paul, Minnesota and passed away on July 13, 2014 in New Brighton, Minnesota. Joan was a mail clerk for Hennepin County for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Jacobson. Joan is survived by her twin sister, Jane, sister Marge Breitkreutz; brothers, Don (Carol) Jacobson & Jim (Doreen) Jacobson; also many nieces and nephews. Memorial service Thursday July 24, 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to service at Salem Covenant
Church, Silver Lake Rd. & 5th St. NW., New Brighton. Interment Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville. Memorials preferred. Although Joan endured many medical problems, she was never one to give up on enjoying life as much as she could. She was active in Special Olympics. At events in skiing, she met Billy Kidd, the World Cup Alpine Racer and formed a friendship that lasted through the years. She spoke with him on the phone many times and even was invited to stay at his home for some skiing events. She enjoyed swimming, and traveling to various areas of the U.S. She loved the different activities at Salem Covenant Church, attending as many as possible, even biking there for services during the summers. She was a big fan of the Twins baseball games, attending as many as possible. Joan enjoyed life to the best of her abilities with determination to live each day to the fullest.
