Jerome Edmund Posterick, a devoted family man, a hardworking farmer, and a proud Navy veteran, passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 94. Born on February 16, 1929, near Little Rock, Minnesota, Jerome was the eldest son of Tony and Veronica Posterick. Throughout his life, Jerome exemplified the values of hard work, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
Growing up on the family farm, Jerome quickly learned the importance of perseverance and making the most of what life had to offer. The challenging years of the Great Depression taught him the value of gratitude, resourcefulness, and faith in God. With the responsibility of being the oldest among his six brothers—Raymond, Roland, Kenneth, Roger, Duane, and Donald—Jerome shouldered the burden of managing the farm, stepping up to the task with maturity and determination.
In 1954, Jerome and Raymond ventured beyond the farm and enlisted in the United States Navy. Jerome proudly served for four years on the USS Midway, forging lifelong bonds with his fellow servicemen and creating cherished memories.
Jerome met the love of his life, Marcine, and they embarked on their journey together, exchanging vows on August 27, 1956. Marcine was a source of love, support, and companionship throughout their marriage. Marcine passed away seven years before Jerome and he persevered, living in his home until age 92. He moved to assisted living after losing his sight, where he was well liked and regarded highly.
Together, Jerome and Marcine raised their five children, Kevin, MaryKay, Tom, Terry, and Pat. Jerome's commitment to his family was unwavering.His love and guidance shaped their lives and created lasting memories that will be treasured.
Known for his skillful hands and a knack for fixing things, Jerome possessed a natural talent for repairs and enjoyed the satisfaction of fixing things. Friends and family fondly remember his willingness to lend a helping hand and the joy he derived from helping.
Jerome is survived by his children Kevin, MaryKay, Tom, Terry, and Pat, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marcine. Their reunion in heaven brings comfort and solace to those who mourn their passing.
