Jeffrey Gorden Thorstad, born May 30, 1959, to Gorden and Betty Thorstad of Morris MN, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids MN at the age of 51. He graduated from Morris High School in Morris MN in 1977. He married Beverly Sue Mills on March 8, 1980 at Morris MN. They have 3 children, Thomas, Benjamin and Jennifer.
Jeff worked at Stevens County Ambulance, Stevens County Sheriff's Department, North Dakota State Patrol, Blue Earth County Law Enforcement, and began working as a Minnesota State Patrol dispatcher in 1987 and was currently working as a Minnesota State Patrol Radio Communications Supervisor.
He loved playing games with his family, watching football, never passed on a game of Horse and really enjoyed camping with his family.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife Sue of Coon Rapids MN, children Thomas (Moon) Thorstad of Laos, Benjamin (Kristie) Thorstad of Duluth MN, Jennifer Thorstad of Coon Rapids MN; brother, Gary (Sandy) Thorstad; sisters, Nancy Thorstad and Judy Thorstad all of Morris MN; father and mother-in-law, Boyd and Merlyn Mills of Durant OK; brother-in-law, Boyd Dee (Deb) Mills of Durant OK; and brother-in-law, Byron Wayne (Barb) Mills of Faulkton SD; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gorden and Betty Thorstad; brother, John Thorstad; and grandparents, William and Jenny Bartell and Lawrence P. and Inga Thorstad.
Funeral service will be held Saturday 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Pathways Community Church, 6341 - 167th Ave. NW, Ramsey, MN. Private interment Summit Cemetery, Morris. Visitation also 5-8 PM Friday at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy. 65 NE, Fridley.
