Jeanette Dierkhising

Jeanette Dierkhising, 84, of New Brighton passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton with visitation held one hour prior.

On August 8, 1931 Jeanette Elizabeth Mohs was born in Milwaukee, WI. Her family would later move to Melrose, MN where she would meet the love of her life, Alois "Al" Dierkhising. They were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose in 1949. A few years after marriage, they moved to New Brighton. Together, they loved to dance to any polka or waltz and visiting their lake home in Sauk Centre. Jeanette loved to quilt and bake. She also enjoyed playing cards and eating treats with her friends.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Patricia (Allen) Lennox, Donna Dierkhising, Katherine Nagan, Steven (Debbie) Dierkhising; daughter-in-law, Jan Dierkhising; grandchildren, Tammy Kathman, Bruce (Tanya) Lennox, Justin (Crystal Martin) Lennox, Nicholas (Jamie Besch) Nagan, Kelli Bertek, Jodi Landers, Jeff Dierkhising; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al in 2000; son, Robert; grandson-in-law, David; and brother, Melvin.
