Age 86, of Fridley, Minnesota

Jan was born and spent her childhood on a small farm in Hoffman, Minnesota. She lived there with her parents, Donald and Lillian Clark (Nordstrom), and her brothers Leighton, Ramon, and Dennis, all of whom she is preceded in death by. They lived on the farm until a couple of years after her father’s passing. Lillian and the children moved to California for a year or two. Then, they decided to move back to get the farm ready to sell and auction it off. They then moved to Fridley, although by then, Ramon and Dennis were off on their own. Jan lived with roommates in a rented house and worked at Honeywell where she would meet Ron.

They would be married in April 1958 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Dana was born in March 1959 and by April 1961, Dawn would make four. Jan was a dedicated and devoted mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her family both at the various jobs she would hold over the course of her life and at home, feeding her family and working to give her children a memorable childhood. This work continued until her family grew to include Dana's children, her grandchildren, Hope (32) and Anna (29), and Dawn's spouse David Johnson, (who also precedes her in death). She was an extremely devoted grandmother, sewing holiday dresses and baking many types of holiday cookies. Throughout her life, she loved to bake, sew, paint, and arrange flowers. The beautiful works she created brought the people around her a great deal of joy, and her home was always very beautiful as well.

She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and assisted with altar guild duties in addition to helping to sew banners for the altar. She also helped with many funeral lunches.

She would live in Fridley until her passing on Wednesday, January 18th about 11 am. She passed quietly at home surrounded by family after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Memorial service to be held on Thursday, May 4th, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley.
Visitation will start at 11 AM, Service at 12 PM and cake and coffee to follow at 1 PM.
