JaNahn (Leander) Duncan of Fridley, passed away on 11/10/2019 at the age of 87. Born June 5, 1932 in Paulding, OH, she was the eldest daughter of Frank & Selma Leander. JaNahn grew up in Princeton, MN where she was proud to say she was the Head Majorette for the Princeton Tigers. She met the love of her life, Neil Duncan, from Onamia, MN and on New Years Eve, 1949, they were married. During their 57 year marriage, Neil and JaNahn were blessed with 5 Children, 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
JaNahn attended Bethel College where she earned her Nursing degree, but left the career to raise and care for her 5 children to whom she devoted herself entirely. A God-fearing woman, she had a passion for Ministry and was deeply involved in her church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She not only was a member of many women's bible studies and Women's Aglow, but also served as its President for several years. JaNahn's passion for Ministry led her on two life-changing trips to Israel through Benny Hinn Ministries where she loved visiting and experiencing all the biblical sites and was baptized in the river Jordan.
During their long and happy marriage, Neil & JaNahn enjoyed traveling around the United States, visiting with Friends and Family and spending time in their Fridley, MN home.
JaNahn was preceded in death by her Husband, Neil, Son, Robert (Bob), Parents, Frank and Selma Leander, Sister, Audrey Bistodeau, Brothers-in-Law, Bernell Bistodeau and Richard Schommer, and Nephews, Ron Bistodeau and Greg Bistodeau.
She is survived by her Children, Cheryl (Ron) Lotz, Richard (DeAnne) Duncan, Don (Paulette) Duncan, and Janeal (Scott) Hall; Grandchildren, Kari (Roland) Fagerberg, Ron Lotz, Ryan Lotz, Bob Duncan, Jon (Jennifer) Duncan, Jennifer (Kyle) Tietz, Sam Duncan, Alexa Hall, Spencer Hall, and Trevor Hall; Great Grandchildren, Josephine & Juliet Fagerberg, Roselyn Duncan; Sister, Marlys Schommer; and many Nieces, Nephews and dear Friends.
JaNahn was an amazing wife, a beloved mother and friend, but most of all, she was the best Grandma! Her warm smile, lively personality and kind spirit will be fondly remembered and live on in the hearts of each and every one of us. Our love for her and her love for us will never be forgotten.
