James Quinn

James “Jim” Quinn, age 81, of Minneapolis, MN, died peacefully on January 1, 2019 at Catholic Eldercare on Main from brain cancer. Preceded in death by his wife, Nita; parents, Henry and Therese Quinn; siblings, Michael and Susan Quinn. Survived by daughters, Julie (Dan Nichols) Quinn, Jean (Ross) Quinn-Davis, Pat (Rick) Dalton, Kathy (Rick Steele) Quinn, Cheryl (Robert Buck) Quinn; eight grandchildren, Sara (Peter Theissen) Kosciolek, Trent Kosciolek, Erin (Matt) Pronley, Drew (Calli) Naylor, Elisabeth Quinn-Davis, Rebecca Quinn-Davis, Katie Dalton, Jimmy Dalton; two great grandchildren, Kate and Mira Pronley; sisters, Mary Ellen (Whitey) Johnson, Katy Leppa, Theresa Quinn; brothers, Dennis (Deborah) Quinn, Timothy (Janie) Quinn; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim loved being busy and working with his hands. He was a welder by trade and a metal artist on the side. He had a booth at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for a number of years. Jim was always helping others. He volunteered at a number of places over the years mainly helping with building, maintenance and repair projects – including hurricane cleanup in New Orleans. He enjoyed being around people and was always looking to make connections with others. Everyone was a potential friend or relative that he just hadn’t met yet. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11AM - 3PM on Thursday, January 24th with a short service at 12PM followed by a light lunch at Silverwood Park Visitor Center, 2500 County Road E, St. Anthony. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Eldercare -earmarked for their Education and Scholarship fund. (http://catholiceldercare.org)
