Irene Bakken

Bakken, Irene Gladys (Hanson) age 90, of Golden Valley, passed away quietly surrounded by family June 2, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, Adolph, parents, Olavus and Julia (Ingebritsen) Hanson, sisters, Marie and Helen and brothers, Otto and Johnny. She is survived by son, Larry (cathy Jacobson); grandchildren, Amy, Ben (Emily) and Carrie (Mike) and great-grandchildren, Soren, Lucas and Zoe Bakken-Heck; Theo and Tess Bakken-Ziring and Oscar and Sadie Bakken-Durchslag; sister, Donna Chilstrom and brothers, Walter and Orville Hanson. Irene lived in West Fargo, worked at Armour and Valley Maid until her retirement and was active in Faith Lutheran Church. She moved to Golden Valley in 2001 to be near family. Visitation 11:30-1pm, Thursday, June 6 with funeral service at 1 pm, followed by reception, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley. Interment June 7, 1 PM at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, Minnesota. Memorials to Jones-Harrison Residence, 3700 Cedar Lake Ave. Mpls. 55418.
