Ione Norma Carlson

Ione Norma Carlson age 103 of Mounds View, MN.

Ione was born April 20, 1920 in Eagle Bend, MN to Elias & Myrtle (Brooks) Nelson.  She was their 10th of 11 children.

She married Lloyd Carlson on July 3, 1942 in St. Cloud, MN.  They were married for 56 years until his passing on December 13, 1998.  Lloyd was a 49er. They traveled for many years with his job before settling down in their home in Mounds View in 1970.  They resided there until her passing at the age of 103 on February 17, 2024.

Ione later started working at Target until full retirement.  She was an active member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.  She was a talented artist, avid card and scrabble player.  Her and Lloyd loved camping, traveling and good fun.  Her wonderful sense of humor and wit will be greatly missed.

She is survived by nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews; great friends, Fern Fisher and Barbara Sartell.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 - 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior and a luncheon to follow at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View, MN.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 - 11:00 am at Manannah Union Cemetery, Manannah, MN.
