Helen Rusin

Helen Rusin, age 93 of Anoka, formerly of Columbia Heights, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 20, 2021. She was born on February 24, 1927 to Frank and Tillie Slopek. She grew up in NE Minneapolis of Polish descent and married Joseph Rusin in 1947.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; 6 siblings; and her dear friend, Clyde Ketelsen. She will be deeply missed by her son, Wayne (Candy); daughter, Nancy (Larry) Schintgen; son, Mark (Vickie), 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother. She had a beautiful smile, loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music.

A private service will be held and then Helen will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Joseph, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
