Glen Raymond Sibell, 80, Columbia Heights MN, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a 1962 graduate of Columbia Heights High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army, where he served for 4 years. In 1967, he married his beloved wife, Sharon. Residing in Columbia Heights, Glen established a diesel mechanic shop with long time friend, Roland Gagnon, located in East Bethel in 1984. Central Truck Service was known in the five-state area as the "Detroit Diesel" place to go. In the early 2000's, Glen sold the shop to his loyal worker and friend, Curt Vetsch. Glen retired in June of 2023.
Anyone who met Glen, knew he was bigger than life. He loved his cabin in Osakis, his fishing trips at Winnie and Rainy River, but mostly, loved his family and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents and several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Sibell (Johnson); son Wayne and daughter Julie (Dave Sinner). Grandchildren Chuck, Steve, Allie (Cade Stang), and Colin. Surviving siblings include Sissy Cardinal, LeRoy Sibell (Darlene), and Mary Galdonik (Ronnie), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
