Gerald Jerome Parkin passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024. 

Gerald was born on August 17, 1933, to parents Leonard and Elizabeth, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He met the love of his life Joan on a blind date, they married on December 12, 1953, and had four beautiful children. Family was everything to Gerald. 

Gerald served his country proudly as a member of the Air Force. After completing his time in the military, Gerald went on to have a career as a Jack of All Trades and he continued to work on projects for many years. 

Gerald loved to fish Rush Creek, build bird houses, wood working, and generally putzing about. The VFW gave Gerald an award for the most Buddy Poppy flowers sold. He would sit outside the Kwik Trip for hours with a smile and he lived for Memorial Day. Gerald will be remembered for his sense of humor and generous spirit.

Gerald is preceded by his wife, Joan, daughter Carol and daughter Linda. He is also preceded by his brothers Jack and Bob.

Gerald is survived by his daughter Jeanette Olson (Dave) and son Leonard (Michelle), brothers Marvin (Lou) and Duane, sisters Shirley and Delores, six grandchildren, Timmy (Gwendolyn), Jennifer (Rueben), Jerry, Jessica, Carol (Jason), Thomas. Gerald is survived by eleven great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 4, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, located at Main Street Church, 6500 Main Street, North Branch, Minnesota 55056.
