Gerald "Jerry" E. Netland
Longtime resident of Spring Lake Park, died April 30, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Edward and Cora; sister, Charlotte Van Wagner; and nephew, Darrell. Survived by beloved wife of 58 years, Valli. Daughter, Karen Barthel (Tom Pope); son, Scott Netland; grandchildren, Rochelle Barthel, Kristina (Shawn) Bretheim, Joseph (Angela) Barthel, Dean Pope, Brady Netland; great grandchildren, Tabitha, Jack, Brandon; sister, Shirley Bosma; many nieces, nephews, and many dear and cherished friends.
Jerry was Commander of Fridley VFW Post 363 in 1996-1997 and was an active Life Member. Jerry also belonged to the Fridley American Legion Post 303.
VFW Ritual Service at 11:00 a.m., followed by Memorial Service on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Miller Funeral Home, 6210 HWY 65 NE, Fridley. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with Military Honors at Hillside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Fridley VFW Post 363.
