Frank D. Sczepanski was born on May 15, 1938, to William and Florence (Gajeski) Sczepanski in Stephen, MN. He was a graduate of the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN.
In 1965, Frank was united in marriage to Annette Satterstrom, who died in 1966; their daughter is Jennifer. Frank married Charlotte Bleess in 1969 and added to their family John, Paul and Mary Beth.
Frank’s professional career began when he came to Minneapolis to work for his brother-in-law Dick Rodin in passenger elevator construction, in 1963. Between 1975 and 1979, he was self-employed as owner of Frank’s Tree Service (during the peak of Dutch Elm outbreak in the metro area). He then worked at various elevator companies in the Twin Cities area, until injury forced his retirement in 1995. Having an agricultural background in his youth, he acquired a gift for growing beautiful flowers, shrubbery, and lush green lawns – which his children and neighbors remember well. In his leisure time he enjoyed “cruising” in his immaculately detailed car and giving city workers and city servants a hard time.
Frank passed away on April 10, 2022, after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children: Jennifer (Jim) Pearson, John (Katie) Sczepanski, Paul (Jackie) Sczepanski, Mary Beth (Jesse Munter); grandchildren: Matthew, Lauren, Brianna, Adam, Emmy, William, Erica, Owen, and Isaac; sibling, Adele Nowacki; many nieces, nephews and friends.
