Florence passed away peacefully on the morning of January 1st, 2025 at the age of 101 years old. She was a gem and a treasure and lived life to the fullest.
Florence Dorothy Klobuchar was born November 22, 1923, to Joseph and Mathilda (Podliska) Hrncir in rural Claire City, South Dakota. She attended rural grade school and graduated from Claire City High School. She also attended Minneapolis Business College.
On June 11, 1949, Florence married William Klobuchar in Minneapolis, Minnesota. William (Bill) passed away on November 2nd, 1977. She worked for many years at the Security Warehouse Company and celebrated her 25 year work anniversary in June of 1968. She eventually retired and was very active in her Life spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, watching old TV game shows, doing word finds and puzzles, and just staying busy with activities. She was a very outgoing person and was a very giving person and she will be missed by all.
Florence made many friends over the years and she lived in Arden Hills, MN in her home since the early 1970's and recently found her final home at The Pillars in Lakeville. As she transitioned from her home in Arden Hills she stayed at Valley Ridge in Burnsville and made many friends there and was where she celebrated her 100th birthday with Family and Friends. At The Pillars she fit right in and made many friends and rarely spent any time in her apartment as she spent most of the time with the other Residents playing games, doing puzzles, participating in events, or just visiting. Everyone knew she was a spitfire with a sense of humor and many comments were said on how much everyone loved spending time with her. She always was level-headed and just went with the flow. The kind of person she was can be reflected upon by the two bookmarks she used on a regular basis that had these phrases written on them: "Your life and mine shall be valued not by what we take... but by what we give" and "A friend is someone who reaches for your hand, but touches your heart". Memories of her will live on forever.
Florence is survived by two brothers, Eugene (Joy) Hrncir of Sisseton, SD and Leonard (Martha) Hrncir of Apple Valley, MN; and many special nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill); parents Joseph and Mathilda; brothers Robert, Joe, Vernon, Ernest, and Kenneth: sisters Irene and Mary Ann.
A Memorial Gathering will occur on January 12th from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Miller Funeral Home at 6210 Hwy 65 NE in Fridley, MN. Light refreshments will be served with opportunities to share memories of Florence with friends and family.
Florence will be laid to rest at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery to be with her husband Bill in a private burial on Monday January 13th.
We will all miss you, with love, your Family and Friends
