Earl grew up on the North side of Minneapolis, graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1964. After graduation he attended Dunwoody Institute, graduating with a degree in Auto Electrical. He had a long career working for NSP and was a member of IBEW 160, retiring in 2005.
His home base has always been in MN, mostly in the Twin Cities area, but there was a time when they owned and operated a dairy farm near Sebeka, MN.
Earl and Cheryl enjoyed boating on Lake Superior in his Cabin Cruiser for many years. The trip of a lifetime was when they started in Bayfield WI, cruised across Lake Superior into Lake Ontario, then followed the Trans-Severn Rivers to Kingston, Ontario.
They switched from the water cruiser to a "land cruiser", otherwise known as a motorhome, traveling around the U.S. Around 2008, they began spending winters in Benson, AZ where they had many friends and enjoyed "jeeping" through the desert in groups.
In 2017 they gave up the townhome, and the motorhome became their year-round residence, with summers in southern MN and winters in AZ.
Earl will be dearly missed by the family members and friends he left behind.
