Lungstrom, Douglas Roy "Doug", 87 years of Blaine MN.
Doug was born in Willmar on July 20, 1936, the only son of Roy W. and Evelyn Lungstrom. Early years were spent in Willmar where he attended Willmar Baptist Church. The family moved to the north shore of Green Lake to become caretakers of Kandiyohi County Park #3. It was at the park Doug developed his strong work ethic and love of fishing. He graduated from New London-Spicer High School where he met then married his soul mate, Joan Roisum. To this union were born three sons and a daughter. They lived in the New London area before moving to Fridley to raise their children. Doug and Jo had a cabin on Lake Andrew where they spent summers making memories with their children, grandchildren and foreign exchange students. Doug passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Doug is survived by his loving wife Jo, children Kent (Lori), Kris (Mike), Kraig (Rae), Kelly (Karen), grandchidren Jesse (Stacia), Josh (Jen), Rachel (Jamie), Kelsie (Joe), Karly (Drew), Kaulise, Allie and Aden (Elise). He is further survived by sister-in-law Lu Beaudette and brother-in-law John Roisum (Sandy), numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Gerry and Carlton Stenbakken, Jim Beaudette, Don and Evie Roisum. Funeral service Wednesday October 25th 11:00 with visitation one hour prior at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi St NE, Fridley. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Redeemer Mission Fund or your local food shelf.
