Doris and Joe spent the majority of their life in New Brighton busy raising their five children with all their activities and adventures. The family loved to travel and go camping near and far away. On weekends when the family wasn't camping, Doris and Joe loved going to the BelRae Ballroom. After retiring from Medtronic she and Joe loved being Winter Snowbirds in Mission, TX and returning for the summer months to Carefree Country Club in Big Lake, MN. She loved entertaining and feeding everyone and was an avid Twins fan. Grandchildren would stay at Carefree for days at a time, swimming and learning to play golf. She was a bargain shopper (remember Banks) and enjoyed going to garage sales to pick up treasures. She loved gardening and even had a plot in the "community" garden at her assisted living residence for fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. She would always comment that she wished she had the energy of her great-grandchildren. She started calling them "popcorn" because they would hop all over the place and never sit still.
