Donald R Cooke

Donald R Cooke “Don” age 94 of Anoka MN, passed away on February 11, 2024 at 8:12 a.m.  Don was born on December 9th1929 in Duluth MN, the 2nd of 2 children to Raymond & Selma Cooke.  After graduating from High School in Superior WI, he married the love of his life, Judith “Judy”.  Don went on to serve in the National Guard, followed by 3 years in the Army (1951-53).  Don’s love for drawing and design led him to his first job at Lakeside Ltd where he spent many years involved in design/production of advertising signs & neons for the brewing industry.  Other employers include Liberty Diversified Int’l and JAX Ltd.  In 1958 Don moved his family to Fridley MN where they resided for 50 years before settling in Anoka MN.  Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith; parents, Raymond & Selma; & sister, Lorraine.  Survived by daughters, Donna & Susan (Steve); grandchildren, Shanna, Nicholas (Pam) & Taylor (Nicole); great grandchildren, Marley, Charlotte, Willow & a host of wonderful friends & neighbors.  A Celebration of Life will be held for Don on Friday, March 1st, at the Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE in Fridley.  Visitation begins at 10:00, with the service at 11:00 & a light lunch following.
