Deanna Moriarty

November 11, 1969 — March 13, 2017

Deanna Marie Moriarity daughter of Michael Anthony Murray and Carolyn Lucille Murray was born on November 11, 1969 in Orange California. At the age of 6, she was moved to Simi Valley, CA with her younger sister, Deborah Gates and was shortly joined thereafter by her younger brother, Michael Murray. Their father worked for Litton manufacturing as a maintenance engineer. She started playing clarinet in junior high and later joined the Percussion and marching band at Simi High. In 1987 Deanna graduated from Simi Valley High School, then she started to attend Moorpark College. She also started to work for First Interstate Bank which was later incorporated into Wells Fargo which she worked with for 27 years. She progressed in her career starting in the mailroom and working up in to the trust department in Galliard Capital Management a subdivision of Wells Fargo as the Senior Associate of Operations. Moving up through the company she transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada for two years and then to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she settled and started a new family after meeting her future husband, Jeffrey Moriarity. In 2005 they built a new house and moved in, with two cats Sasha and Cleo. In 2006 they were married. Their family over the next few years would grow to include two puppies, Roofie Roo, and Lacey Lou, and shortly thereafter her longtime friend from Simi Valley, Roxanne Mitchell. Deanna became the primary caretaker to everyone that was around her.

Deanna loved the green and the water in Minnesota that her and her husband often fished and had adventures camping all over the state and trying out new lakes and seeing the different types of landscape in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This also overflowed into traveling to different destinations and charter fishing, some of which include Alaska, Hawaii, Cancun and California.

She was a very big animal supporter, worked with different animal support groups, including taking on adoption of three different dogs and one cat to finding them homes that they could live out the rest of their lives in a loving and supporting environment. She loved reading and many arts and craft projects, which included gift card stamping, making baby blankets for charitable contribution, and jewelry making.

Deanna, although she was never able to have children she loved being an aunt to all of her nieces and nephews, and actively reached out to all of them any time that she could. She also took great joy in being a godparent.

Deanna passed away on March 13, 2017 and the arms of her longtime friend Roxanne Mitchell. Her smile and laughed affected everyone who met her, along with her caring and loving attitude to everyone she could meet. Deanna will be forever in our hearts; God, family and friends were what was important to Deanna and her legacy will live on.

"In ancient times the Greeks did not write obituaries. They only asked one question after a person passed did she have passion?"

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Murray, who had weighed heavily on her mind the previous two days to her passing, and to quote her, "He is been around her all weekend". Deanna and her father had a very special bond, and now they are at peace together in heaven.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Jeff; her sister and brother-in-law, Deborah & Dan Gates and their two daughters, Hannah and Page; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Brook Murray and their daughters; Charlotte and Tess), her mother, Carolyn Murray; many other relatives and friends.
