David Doepner

David Donald Doepner, age 78, of Shoreview, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, in the hospital after a brief diagnosis with Lung Cancer. David Donald “Butch, Big D” Doepner was the son of Leonard and Lucille Doepner. He was a middle child with 4 sisters and 1 brother; Audrey (Jim, Pete), Marlene (Al), Skip (Annette), Theresa (Jack), Sylvia “Cookie.” He was the owner of A+ Plus Appliance for over 40 years with his partner, Tom Labey in St Paul, MN. He was a golf enthusiast, a frequent traveler and a grill master. He had a quick wit and loved a good joke. David was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married to Carma Gillespie and they reside in Shoreview, MN and were blessed with a son, Anthony and a daughter, Elizabeth. David was previously married (divorced) to Kathleen McMahon. They were blessed with 3 sons, David, Thomas, Terrance and 3 daughters, Monica “Malasondra”, Mary, Kathy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary; parents, Leonard and Lucille; siblings, Audrey and Skip. David is survived by his wife, Carma Doepner of Shoreview; 7 children, David Doepner (Julie) of St Paul, Thomas “Tommy” Doepner of St Paul, Monica “Malasondra” Dybevik of St Paul (Jeff), Terance Doepner of St Paul (Christine Lindrud), Kathy “Doepner” Flagge of Minneapolis, Anthony Doepner (Theresa), Elizabeth Kappel (Justin); 3 sisters: Marlene, Theresa and Sylvia; 8 grandchildren; Chelsey, Clementyne, Anna, Shawn, Gwendolyn, Andrew, Ava, Aubrey; great-granddaughter; Terra. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View, MN., with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at church.
