Darlyne Hanson

Darlyne Jeanette Hanson , 77, passed away on December 22, 2013 at the Walker Methodist Nursing Home in Minneapolis, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, MN with Burial will be 2:00 PM at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral service.

Darlyne Jeanette Morey was born on August 2, 1936 in Roseau, MN, the eldest child of Ray Arlington and Irene Morey. She grew up near Wannaska, MN where she attended grade school before attending Roseau High School graduating in 1955. As a young woman she ventured off to the Twin Cities in search of work. There she met Telton Orval Hanson, they were married on September 30, 1961 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in South Minneapolis for the past 53 years, spending many years on Pillsbury Avenue. To this union three daughters were born: Pam, Violet, and Karen.

Darlyne was first employed as a cleaning woman in St. Louis Park, MN; and a child care provider. After several years, she went to work for Seaman's as a quilting machine operator. Darlyne was always a care giver, not only for her family, but for the residents of the Bannochie Nursing Home and later for the Walker Methodist Nursing Home, where she worked as a nurse's aide and meal time friend for many years, until her retirement. She later volunteered at Walker in the Adult Day Program helping the staff with meal set ups, serving and cleaning up afterwards and with their activities as needed.Darlyne and Telton were very supportive of family. She rarely ever missed a family function or event, not only of her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, but also of the large extended family including nieces, nephews, and cousins. Darlyne also enjoyed canning vegetables, cooking and making lefse with her family, putting puzzles together, playing cards and board games with her grandchildren, especially Whist and Superman, and she loved watching and going to hockey and baseball games.

She is survived by three daughters: Pamela (Tom) Kile, Minneapolis, MN, Violet Hanson, Farmington, MN, Karen (Scott) Radcliff, Bloomington, MN, four grandchildren: Todd Kile, Robert (Courtney) Kile, Andrea and Mitchell Radcliff, two great grandchildren, Jourdan Kile and Sullivan Kile, seven siblings: Ramona Takkunen, Apple Valley, MN, Ronald Morey, Rothsay, MN, Leighton (Jackie) Morey, Roseau, MN, Teresa Hubbard, Shakopee, MN, Wendy Hanson, Fridley, MN, Dale (Vicki) Morey, Pine Island, MN, Dean (Joan) Morey, Hibbing, MN, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Darlyne was preceded in death by her husband Telton in 2004, her parents, and several brothers in law and sisters in law.
