Darlene Faith McPhillips

Darlene (Dolly) Faith McPhillips (Schwantes), age 82, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and cherished Friend passed away peacefully on May 14^th, 2024.  Special thanks to the loving caregivers at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park.

Dolly is the daughter of Frank and Irma Schwantes.  She was born on July 6, 1941 in New Ulm and they later moved to Fridley where she graduated high school.  She married Michael B. McPhillips in 1962.

Dolly will be remembered for her loving spirit, caring nature, creative mind, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends.  Her presence will be missed.

Dolly had a special love for dogs, especially Oakley.  She enjoyed game night, cards, watching the Wild & Twins, drawing, puzzles, bingo, coloring, scrapbooking, collecting decorative roosters, spending time with friends, and family gatherings.

Dolly is preceded in her journey by her father Frank, mother Irma, husband Mike, daughter Kristi McPhillips, brother Frank Schwantes, sister Diane Zemler, sister Sandy Herzberg, sister Rhonda Sell, and brothers-in-law Cliff Herzberg, Fred Zemler and Mark Ramert; nephews AJ Stadler, Nick Schwantes, and great nephew Deuce Dietz.   She is survived by son Tony McPhillips; grandchildren, Lindsay McPhillips, Sam McPhillips, Megan Migneault, Savanah Byers, Ashton Byers, and Jason Boje (Mariah); great grandchildren Eric Migneault, Jaycee Byers, Kya Green, Quinten Muchow, Averie Boje, and Oliver Boje; brothers and sisters Roxy (Keith) Hakeneis, Cindy Ramert, Franky Long, Paul (Dawn) Schwantes, Darcy (Dan) Uttech, and Rick (Val) Schwantes; brother-in-law Gary Sell and sister-in-law Jan Schwantes and many nieces and nephews.

 Celebration of Life will be held at the Coon Rapids VFW, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids on June 15^th at 12 noon with a Eulogy read at 1PM,  followed by a reception until 3pm.
