Saffert, Clarice Marie age 83 of Fridley, MN, passed away on 8- 27-17, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born 5-11-1934 in Grand Rapids, MN . Survived by her loving & devoted husband Henry of 60 years; daughter, Kim (Daniel )Anderson & children, Reid & Lauren; son, Daniel (Colleen) & children Zachary & Nicole; daughter, Lori (Greg) Kowalski, & children, Lindsey, Jill & Kati; and great grandchildren, Marlee, Brock, Bailey, Holden, Claire, & Nima. Preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Ted Thompson; and brother Dan Thompson, all from Grand Rapids. She graduated from Grand Rapids High school in ’52 and was employed at Whittemore Drug. After completing Gale Institute in ’55 she was employed at the Mpls Savings & Loan. Henry and Clarice were lovingly married in ’57. Henry had one year left in the army at Fort Belvoir, VA where she moved with him and became a gov’t employee as a secretary. After returning to MN she was a stay at home mom raising their 3 children. In ’73 she returned to work as a secretary at Columbia Heights High School for 21 years prior to retirement. Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM Thursday, August 31, 2017 at St. Williams Catholic Church, 6120 5TH Street NE, Fridley, 763-571-5600, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Private Family Interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
