Charles Johnson

Charles Franklin Johnson, 85, of New Brighton, MN passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Langton Place in Roseville, Minnesota. He died peacefully without struggle. He is survived by his wife, Shari, of 52 years, children, Jackie (Gary) Dalzell, Jon (Mary) Johnson; grandchildren Angie (Mark) Wallin, Bryan (Emily) Dalzell, Chris (Marie) Dalzell), Jessica (Steve) St. Claire, Matthew Dalzell and Brandon (Karla) Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Oliver & Faustina Dalzell, Logan & Connor St. Claire, Luna Dalzell, Tyler & Maren Wallin, brothers Clifford and Clayton Johnson, sister Ardis Peterson plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuck was born on December 19, 1929, at Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Theodore (Ted) and Esther Johnson. He was raised and educated in Willmar and spent his early years in Willmar working for J.C. Penny Company. He also worked for Brach Candy Company and later started his own manufacture's rep. business selling automated manufacturing equipment.

Chuck was a talented woodworker. He has made numerous articles, including a grandfather's clock, toy boxes, chests, and many wooden bowls. He also taught his grandchildren how to build bird houses.

In 1993 he retired and moved to the Brainerd area where he built our retirement home on Ruth Lake. He spent many great years there enjoying family and friends. In 2005 he returned to the Twin Cities and purchased a condo at Applewood Pointe in New Brighton.

Chuck loved to fish, travel, hunt, square dance, play cards and games and was truly blessed by a loving family and many, many friends.

Memorial service at 11AM on Tues, Mar 24 at St Philips Lutheran Church, 6180 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, with a visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred.
