Carole Louise O'Donnell

February 19, 1939 — April 6, 2025

Coon Rapids

Carole Louise O'Donnell, a beacon of warmth and kindness, left us peacefully at her home in Coon Rapids, MN, surrounded by the love of her family on April 6, 2025. Born on February 19, 1939, in the charming town of Grant Park, IL, Carole blossomed into the loving woman we cherished, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed her path.

For many years, Carole dedicated herself to her role as a Dietary Aide at Unity Hospital, where her caring nature shone brightly. Beyond her professional life, she found joy in the simpler pleasures that life offered. An avid gardener, Carole nurtured her passion for flowers with a gentle hand; her gardens became a vibrant tapestry of colors, a reflection of her engaging spirit. Those who visited her were frequently greeted by the beauty of her floral arrangements—testaments to her love for nature and nurturing.

Known for her easy-going personality, Carole was a loving and kind-hearted soul. Family was the cornerstone of her life. Her bond with her children and grandchildren was marked by affection, laughter, and the quiet strength that she so effortlessly exuded. DeAnn Sullins and Micheal O'Donnell, her beloved children, carry forward her legacy of love. She embraced her son-in-law, Roy Sullins, and warmly welcomed her daughters-in-law, Mary O'Donnell, into her nurturing fold. Her grandchildren—Jessica O'Dell, Amanda Stradtmann and her husband Jefferey, Bo Dozert, Nickolas Sullins Alexander Sullins and his wife Amanda, and Derick Sullins—were the apples of her eye, each a cherished piece of her heart.

In her role as a grandmother, Carole’s love transcended generations with the arrival of her wonderful great-grandchildren: Millie, Trevor, Caleb, Charles, Nathan, Noah, Natalie, and Ivory, who brought her countless moments of joy and pride. They were the embodiment of her wishes for the future—bright, loving, and imbued with the kindness she taught them.

Carole will be profoundly missed, not only by her family but also by those who had the honor to know her. She was preceded in death by her dedicated husband, Roger Dean O'Donnell, and their three beloved children, Timothy, James, and Debra. She also mourned the loss of her cherished brother, Richard Maas, whose memory she kept alive in her heart.

Those who gather to remember Carole will surely reflect on a life filled with laughter, gardening discussions, tales of casino escapades, and a shared love for fishing—activities that echoed her vibrant spirit. In each flowering plant, in every child’s laughter echoing through family gatherings, Carole’s essence will continue to thrive, reminding us all of her warmth and enduring legacy.
