Bonnie Radtke

April 22, 1935 — February 9, 2020

Bonnie Mae Radtke went to be with her Lord on February 9, 2020 at the age of 84 at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice.

She was born April 22, 1935 to Vernon and Emma (Bangert) Apelgrain. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith as an infant.

Bonnie graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1953 and later attended Concordia College in St. Paul. She married Edwin Radtke at St. John's Lutheran Church in Todd County on October 16th, 1954.  They lived on their farm until 1967 before moving to the Twin Cities.  There she worked as a nurses aide at Mercy Hospital also Home Health Hospice; and later worked at Fanny Farmer, Bachmans and Linders.

She enjoyed visiting with family and friends; her favorite hobby was working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Bonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie and Messiah Lutheran Church in Mounds View for over 50 years. Her Faith in God was very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; son, Rodney; parents, Vernon and Emma; two brothers, and other loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (James) Kellar of Blaine, Rick (Christine) Radtke of Zimmerman, Julie Radtke of Blaine; daughter-in-law, Lynn Radtke of Blaine; six grandchildren: Lauren, Ross, Blake, Brent, Jeff and Reinier; four great grandchildren: Linnea, Reed, Miles, Aubrey; a future great grandchild in May 2020; and also many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 29th at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2848 County Rd H2 - Mounds View; at 2:00pm with a visitation one hour prior.
