Betty Anderson

June 20, 1933 — August 4, 2011

Anderson, Betty B. of Fridley, born and raised in Dassel, MN. Went home to be with Jesus on August 4th, 2011 at the age of 78 with her family at her side. Betty was born June 20th, 1933, in Dassel, Minnesota to Roy and Ethel Bollman. Growing up her older brother Donald who still calls Dassel home.
Some of Betty's fondest memories include: working at Great Lakes with her cousin Betty Jane, time spent at her mother and fathers lake home with Donnie, Jane & the children, always enjoying each other's company.
Betty love to prepare meals, bake caramel rolls for all the friends and children's friends who were also welcome and always happened to be around.
Family Christmas was always a favorite time of the year. When the grandchildren were small, Mom would have Santa Claus come to the house. Each year mom had 3 presents for each child. One was from Santa, one from a garage sale (another of mom's favorite things) and one more just for good measure. Those Christmas's included all the children & grandchildren, the loved of making big meals, playing of board games, cards while the younger ones played with their new gifts, the singing of Christmas hymns and always ending with a Christmas candle light service. Mom loved spending time with Dad's brother & Sister in-law, Walt & Marilyn. Marilyn always treated Mom like a sister. Mom and Dad loved company and celebrating their friends most special occasions. One of mom's greatest gifts was the gift of laughter, Mom could laugh at herself.
Some of her favorite past times include garage sales, painting, ceramics, volunteer work, travel, singing and telling her loving husband exactly how to hang pictures. Mom was very proud of her accomplishment of starting in business with 2 of her sons Anderson's New Carpet Design and running the business for 16 years before she retired. She also built a genealogy book for the Bollman side of the family. Mom loved her husband of 57 years, her children and her grandchildren with all her heart. Until the very end she would light up whenever her family and friends came for a visit.
Betty's last year was difficult, but she bore it all with dignity and grace, never wavering in her faith. Always praying for healing, knowing she was ever in His hands.
She greatly appreciated the support and friendship she received from her family, friends, Hospice caregivers, and Dr. Mann.
Our family takes great pleasure in thinking of Betty's strolling along on that thing we find of most earthly value. In truth nothing more but asphalt compare to the glory of His very Presence.
Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Ethel Bollman. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dale; loved by her sons, Scott (Jenifer), Mark (Mary), Bryan (Robin); daughter, Lyn (Craig) Borgmann; and her 12 grandchildren, Cara, Nolan, Kurt, Ian, Jessica (Kyle), Heather, Casey, Jeremy, Ethan, Jacob, Tony and Matthew; brother, Donald (Jane) Bollman; nieces & nephews, and many wonderful friends. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held on Saturday August 13th at 11AM with a gathering of family and friends starting at 10AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 61 Mississippi Way NE, Fridley.
