Barbara Ann Hyland

Barbara Ann (Plancon) Hyland, age 83 of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away on November 12, 2024. Barbara was the most loving wife and mother a family could ask for. She married the love of her life, Thomas Hyland, 61 years ago after meeting him on a blind date. They had 8 children, of whom she was very proud and bragged about often.

As if raising her 8 children wasn't enough, Barbara also ran a hobby farm on 40 acres in northern Wisconsin, with various farm animals and a sizable garden. She was an avid reader, learning new skills to use on the farm. She was known to relax after a hard day with the smooth sounds of John Denver and Roger Whittaker.

She joins her husband, Thomas, who passed away earlier this year. She is survived by her children Michael (Katsuyo), Lisa (Tom) Kirscht, Lynn, Patrick (Vickie), Kevin (Tricia), Ann, Diana, and Kelly, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. While we will miss her dearly, we're happy she and Dad are together again - probably sharing a chocolate milkshake. The family wants to thank Copperfield Hill and Brighton Hospice staff for outstanding care. 

Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 8701 36th Avenue North, New Hope, MN 55427 (763-544-3352), Visitation at 10:00am, luncheon to follow after the service.
