Ann Louise Frederickson

Ann Louise Frederickson, 77, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, passed away on May 29, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on November 7, 1946, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to George and Elva Mishek.

Ann spent her childhood in St. Paul and Roseville. She attended Mankato State University, where she met the love of her life, Bruce. They married on August 3, 1968, following their graduation from Mankato State. Afterwards, Ann supported Bruce as he attended the seminary. As a minister’s wife, Ann lived in various places throughout the Midwest, including Mount Ayr, Iowa, where their sons were born, and Bagley, Minnesota, where their daughter was born.

Ann cherished spending personal time with each of her children, staying home to care for them. Once her children were in school, she returned to her own education, earning a Master’s degree as a Media Specialist from St. Cloud State University. Ann then worked in schools across the Twin Cities, dedicating her career to nurturing a love of reading in children. She extended this passion to her friends and family and frequently offered them book recommendations.

Summers were joyfully spent relaxing, fishing, and playing games at their lake home in Grove Lake, Minnesota. Ann loved to challenge friends and family to Cribbage or other games, and she frequently won. Some of Ann’s best memories where of fishing with her sons, having long phone calls with her daughter, going on road trips with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren. She and Bruce also traveled to many places overseas.

Ann’s faith was central to her life. She loved teaching Sunday School and witnessing her students grow in their faith. She found great joy in contemporary Christian music and saw miracles in nature, which was reflected in her love of gardening and watching her family grow.

Ann is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children, Ted (Darcy) Frederickson, Aaron (Dawn) Frederickson, and Meg (Mitchell) Petrich; her grandchildren, Colten, Jade, Lily, Jack, Trevor, Grace, and Eden; her siblings, Judith Adams and James (Lorinda) Mishek; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers-in-law, Joseph Adams and James Crowley; her sister-in-law, Judie Crowley; and her son-in-law, John Weekley.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8th, at 9 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mounds View followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the same location. Ann’s cremains will be interred at Messiah Lutheran Church after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Operation Christmas Child, a cause dear to Ann’s heart.
