Alesia Harvey was born on June 21, 1955 to the union of Ruby and Grace Ann Blevins. She grew up with 8 loving siblings in Louisville, Kentucky where she grew in her passion for God, faith, life, and last, but not least, dancing. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a model for all as she lived out her gift to serve others. Because of this gift, God placed upon her heart to continue her love of service by pursuing an education within the medical field.
On December 27, 1985, Alesia married Scott Harvey and they raised 4 children:LaToria Shobe, Tonika Shobe, LaTisha Clark, and Scott Frank Harvey Jr. Here she was also a model of service for her family. In 1997, in an effort to further pursue a life of service, Alesia, with the love, support, and encouragement of her husband and children, graduated from Anoka Technical College with her LPN license. She continued her devotion to serve with countless hours committed to helping others in their time of need all while giving equal time to her family.
Alesia also loved being a grandmother to: Jazsmyn Sieverson, Alexzia Shobe, Aubrianna Casper, Aiyanna Shobe, Darius Jones, Janaiyah Clark, Payton Capser, Ronnie Clark Jr, Jalen Clark, Audrea Harvey. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and loved to care for them. Nothing could compare to the joy they brought to Alesia's life.
The last three and a half years of Alesia's life were blessed ones. Although ALS attacked her body, Alesia remained steadfast and faithful to God. Her faith and trust in Him gave her the peace and serenity needed to wake up daily with a big smile, a renewed mind, and a fight to persevere. She armed herself daily to battle her physical decline and she did just that. Alesia did not lose her battle to ALS, she conquered it. She never allowed this disease to define who she was, neither dissipate the love she had for God and her family. Despite the challenges that came along with ALS, she remained a woman of God, faith, and character. For as long as she could, she attended church regularly. Once no longer able to physically attend church, she committed to listening to morning sermons and devotionals from the comforts of her bed. She continued praying and would pray daily with her husband. Her last days were spent filled with love, laughter, and prayer. She ran a valiant race on her own terms and finished victorious with Christ by her side. Alesia, we love you and we will miss you, but you will live on in the legacy you have left behind through all the lives you have touched. As we celebrate your life today, we thank you for all that you have done and brought to each one of our lives.
Alesia temporarily leaves behind: her husband, Scott of 30 years, their children, LaToria Shobe, Tonika Shobe, LaTisha Clark (Ronnie), Scott Frank Harvey Jr., her grandchildren, Jazsmyn Sieverson, Alexzia Shobe, Aubrianna Casper, Aiyanna Shobe, Darius Jones, Janaiyah Clark, Payton Casper, Ronnie Clark Jr, Jalen Clark, Audrea Harvey, her siblings, Teresa Watkins, Fred Blevins, Cavonough Blevins, Regina Evans, Milton Blevins (Violet), Velina Benning, LaVeeda Mahan (Claude), and Debra Jones (Leo), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
